taxes. The trust is especially
useful for highly appreciated assets (real estate or securities).
The trust can also be used to help loved ones with income after you have
gone, but keep the principal from being spent unwisely.
LITURGY MINISTERS MEETING All current and
interested ministers are urged to join us for the training session on Wednesday,
September 24th, at 7:00 P.M. in the Church.
The evening will consist of evening prayer, a talk by Melissa Broom,
liturgist at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph, and ministry-specific
training for our ushers, lectors, musicians, and Eucharistic ministers.
Refreshments will be provided. Parishioners
who are interested in becoming a liturgical minister at St. Victor’s are
requested to first contact the appropriate coordinator listed on the front of
the bulletin prior to this meeting. REMINDER: Our Sunday, 5:00 P.M. Mass resumes this weekend, Sept. 14th.

Ministry will continue to take registration for classes with space still
available through the month of September, as follows: Tuesdays:

11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Please
bring a copy of your children’s Baptismal Certificate if they are
receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession), Eucharist
(Communion) or Confirmation. Please
note, this is on a first come, first served basis.

The Silent Auction is looking for new chairpersons for next
year. The current chair ladies
would like to work with them this year in preparation for 2009.

School News Applications
for St. Victor’s School for the 2008-2009 school year, are still available
in the School Office from 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. and online @ http://www.school.stvictor.org
. $CRIP gift certificates will be available after Masses today (except Sunday 7:00 & 8:00 A.M.). Altar servers Applications
for students wishing to become altar servers are now available at the parish
or school office. Candidates
must be in 4th (age 9) through 12th grades to
participate. Practices for
public school students will begin September 22nd, on Mondays
& Tuesdays, 3:30 to 4:30 P.M., in the church.
St. Victor’s students will be trained during the school day.
The deadline for applications is Sept. 17th.
KIEV SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR CONCERT will be held at Sacred Heart Parish (13716 Saratoga Ave.,
Saratoga) on September 19th at 7:30 P.M.
Host families are also needed for the musicians and vocalists for one
