5th Sunday in Ordinary Time - World Marriage Sunday - February 7-8, 2009
Thanks
to two parish organizations for their well-done events this weekend. The
Guadalupe Society's crab feed and the Vietnamese Association leading the parish
in celebrating Tet involved untold hours of preparation from the members of both
organizations in order to give the rest of the parish two opportunities for
R&R ("rest and relaxation" in military lingo). The 12:15 Tet
Mass, led by Fr. Paul, also offered all of our parishioners an opportunity to
participate in the vibrant Catholicism practiced by the Vietnamese, which has
survived even severe Communist oppression. It is a great honor to serve as
pastor to so many who have suffered greatly for the Gospel.
