2nd Sunday of Easter - Divine Mercy Sunday - April 18-19, 2009
There’s wideness in God’s mercy
like the wideness of the sea. There
is kindness in His justice, which is more than liberty.
There is no place where earth’s sorrows are more felt than up in
heaven. There is no place where earth’s failings have such kindly judgment
given. For the love of God is broader than the measure of man’s mind.
And the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.
(F.

COLLECTION TODAY FOR HOME MISSIONS
Today’s second collection is the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. This appeal supports the Home Missions – places in the United States where the Catholic Church struggles just to keep parishes open and to educate children in the faith. Some dioceses are terribly short of priests, sisters and the money needed to run parishes. Please give generously. Extra envelopes are available in the pews. Student
Confirmation At Mass Next Sunday Next Sunday, April 26th,
the 5:00 P.M. Mass will be a special liturgy for our high school
Confirmation students and their families. Fifty-two
of our high school students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during this
Mass. Please keep our students and
their families in your prayers. May “Crowning” of the Blessed MotherPlease join the Legion of Mary in honoring our Blessed Mother on Saturday, May 9th. The Rosary procession starts at 4:30 P.M. followed by our Saturday 5:00 P.M. Mass. Please come and bring flowers. Refreshments will be served after the Mass. CATECHETICAL MINISTRY HELP NEEDED

and talents with our Junior High and High School students.

School confirmation students. Please
prayerfully consider this most important ministry (Training is provided.)

SCRIPTURE READINGS APRIL 25-26, 2009 ACTS OF THE APOSTLES 3:13-15, 17-19 1 JOHN 2:1-5 LUKE 24:35-48 PLANNED GIVING NOTESRetirement Plans
Did
you know that retirement plan assets are part of your estate?
They also have never been taxed as income.
The IRS loves these plans, because they can get two bites
instead of one! This can reduce
their value to your heirs by up to 70%! If you want to know more about this, the Diocese can provide free assistance. Call Robert Serventi @ 983-0168, or write to him at: 1150 N. First St., Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95112-4966. Mother’s
Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards
Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards are available on the tables around the inside of the Church. These cards are wonderful for remembering mothers everywhere – living or deceased. It is a great opportunity to have them remembered during Mass in our Church on Mother’s Day and throughout the month of May. Please drop the completed return envelope in the collection basket or take it to the Parish Office by 9:00 A.M. on Friday, May 8th. Bulletin advertisers
