PRAYER FOR MEMORIAL DAY: Lord Jesus Christ, today we honor the memory of those men and women who gave their all for the cause of freedom. They worked, fought and died for the heritage of freedom, brotherhood and honor that they have passed on to us. Help us to recall that You gave up Your life for the true freedom of all human beings. Teach us the meaning of peace and the real battle that must take place in ourselves before it will be won in families and nations. Make us keep Your memory in our celebration of communion and pray for the peace and freedom in today’s world. Amen.

St. Victor’s MEMORIAL DAY MASS schedule for Monday, May 25^th, will be 8:00 and 9:00 A.M. All parish offices will be closed that day.

You are also cordially invited to attend the annual Memorial Day Veteran’s Tribute and Mass on Monday, May 25^th, at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery ( 22555 Cristo Rey Dr. , Los Altos ). The celebrant will be Bishop P.J. McGrath. Or, join us at Calvary Catholic Cemetery ( 2655 Madden Ave. , San Jose ). Rev. Msgr. Joseph Milani will be the presider. Both Masses will begin at 11:00 A.M.; preceded by a Veteran’s Tribute at 10:40 A.M. [Chairs and a tent are provided. Allow extra time for parking.]

CATECHETICAL MINISTRY HELP NEEDED

CM is looking for those who are interested in sharing their faith, time and talents with our Junior High and High School students. This is a weekly commitment for Junior High, and twice a month for High School Confirmation students. Please prayerfully consider this most important ministry (Training is provided.) Our PRAYERS and CONGRATULATIONS to the seven men who were ordained this weekend to the priesthood: Thierry Geris, Roberto Gomez, Justin Le, Allen Navarro, Andrew Nguyen, Tan Nguyen and Ernesto Orci. This is the largest class in the 28-year history of the Diocese of San Jose.

CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to the members of our parish community who recently received the Pope Pius X Award for their 10 years of service as volunteer teachers at St. Victor’s Parish: Bob Butler (RCIA), Aurora Caparas (Liturgy of the Word), Edwin & Eleanor Datu (Baptismal Prep), Pilar Felipe (Baptismal Prep), Fe Magat (Liturgy of the Word), Queenie Marquez, (Confirmation II), Alicia Sera (Elementary), Joe Siguenza (Elementary) and Dan & Josephine Suarez (Baptismal Prep). MyLan Pham received a Diocesan certificate for her 5 years of service as Elementary Aide and Confirmation I Facilitator.
