Fourth Sunday of Advent/Christmas - December 19-20, 2009
Wishing
You and Your Family a Holy and Blessed Christmas! A
BLESSING FOR YOUR MANGER...God
of all creation, as we look upon this holy manger, fill us with
wonder and awe. May
these figures help us to reflect on the wonder of Christ’s birth
that silent night in Bethlehem. God of miracles and mystery, fill us
with the faith of Joseph and Mary, with the wonder of the shepherds,
and the generosity of the three kings.
Bless this manger, may it be for us a sign of peace, of joy
and of Your gentle love. We
ask this in the name of Christ, Your Son and our Brother. Amen. SECOND

for beautifying the Church at this special time of the year.
Please make checks payable to St. Victor’s Altar Society and

Rectory Office. Thank you. PLANNED GIVING NOTES Life Insurance Gifts It is easy to
turn an old life insurance policy into a nice gift to St. Victor’s
Parish, and a possible tax deduction. Simply transfer it to, “The
Roman Catholic Bishop, a California Corporate Sole, for the benefit of
St. Victor’s Parish.” It
is even easier to add the parish as a beneficiary to a policy.
Because you can always change this, there is no tax deduction
for including the Church as a beneficiary. If you want to
know more about this, the Diocese can provide free assistance.
Call Robert Serventi @ 983-0168, or write to him at: The
Chancery, Diocese of San Jose, 1150 N. First St., Suite 100, San Jose,

Please
Pray For Our Sick Please pray for
the sick, seriously ill and hospitalized members of our parish
family, including those preparing for surgical procedures and
tests, especially Diem Quan and Richard Yamada. Our
Sympathy And Prayers St. Victor’s Parish Community extends
its sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Carl Flandez,
who recently passed away. The next Friday Night BINGO will be held in the parish hall on January 8, 2010. More details next weekend. U.n.I. TEENS WINTER SERVICE PROJECT THANKS to all who continue to bring in hygiene supplies new socks and jackets. They are still needed. We will be collecting clean used coats and jackets ONLY in November and December. Please check your closets. Again, we will be collecting coats and jackets only – no other clothing will be accepted. Please give those other items to another charity. [The jackets, hygiene supplies and new socks may be dropped off at the Catechetical Ministry Office.] FOR SAFETY SAKE. For
your safety as well as the safety of others, we ask your
cooperation with St. Victor’s, the Police Department and the
Fire Department by parking in designated areas only.
We especially need the fire lanes to be left open and
clear. (You may be ticketed!)
As a courtesy to others, we ask you to follow traffic signs
in and out of the parish grounds.
Please also obey the posted signs – Speed Limit of 5
miles per hour - when driving on the parish grounds.
We hope those few traffic rules will help keep everyone
safe, and smooth any traffic flow problems we may have. THE
GOOD ORDER OF THE HOUSE OF GOD: Our ushers provide a very welcome
service at our celebrations of the Eucharist.
Please assist them if they ask for your help and
cooperation. Please help to keep the Church and the surrounding
area neat and clean. At
the end of Mass you can help by replacing your Music books and
Missalettes in the pew racks and by taking your bulletin home with
you for handy reference. Please do not chew gum in or around the
Church. Dispose of
chewing gum in a trash receptacle not on the ground or under the
pews. There is a CRYING ROOM available for young children with
room for one parent. Out
of respect for the priest and courtesy to others, please arrive at
Mass on time and remain in your pews until the priest has left the
Church. Thank you for
your cooperation. SOCIAL

AND 50TH+ WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION - Bishop
Patrick J. McGrath would like to invite all couples celebrating
their 25th and 50th+ Wedding Anniversaries
in 2010 to participate in the Annual Wedding Anniversary Mass at
the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph ( Pope John XXIII once said, “Christmas is like a kiss.”
How true! It is
the night that justice and peace kissed, mercy and kindness
embraced. God and man
became one. There is a
love at Christmas, a love that embraces the real world of disease
and despair, destruction and death, sin and sorrow.
Christmas wants to gather us all together as one treat
human family to give us the greeting of God and the kiss of His
Christ.
