27th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Respect Life Sunday - October 3-4, 2009
RESPECT LIFE – WE PRAY – God
of compassion and patient love, be with all who are afraid and give
them the courage of the Gospel of life.
Be with all mothers, especially those who are young or alone,
beaten or addicted. Heal
their broken hearts and seal them with Your love.
Be with all children, those who are yet unborn, those who are
tiny and frail. Cradle them in Your love. Be with all fathers,
especially those who are young and confused, angry or afraid.
Give them strength and wisdom and heal them with Your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
(Rev.
James Moronery)

you know that you can join the diocese of San Jose Pooled Income Fund?
You can earn a nice income, avoid capital gains taxes and nail
down a tax deduction by doing this. When you no longer need the
income, your gift can go directly to St. Victor’s Parish. If you want to know more about this, the Diocese can provide free assistance. Call Robert Serventi @ 983-0168, or write to him at: Diocese of San Jose, The Chancery, 1150 N. First St., Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95112-4966. URGENT NEED

INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF FAST AND PRAYEROur parishioners are asked to join other Catholics around the world from October 2nd-12th for an International Week of Prayer and Fasting. Although we live in uncertain times, many graces are also flowing. We appear to be surrounded by critical events that impact many families. The heavenly weapons to prevent disasters, wars and degeneration are the Eucharist and the Rosary. Suggestions – pray the Rosary daily, recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet, attend daily Mass and/or a Holy Hour, fast (from food, TV, shopping), or hold a Prayer Service or Rosary at your home with a group. Join St. Victor’s Lay Carmelites for a ROSARY, in conjunction with America Needs Fatima, on Saturday, October 10th, at 12:00 noon at 2803 Glauser Dr. Please see the flyer in this week’s Sunday Bulletin. MARK

In cooperation with St. Mary’s in Gilroy, St. Victor’s will also be collecting clothing, shoes and blankets for the Philippines.
