Pentecost Sunday - May 30-31, 2009
We look to the scriptures to find the meaning of this great feast – the presence of the Holy Spirit in God’s people and His Church: The Spirit is UNIFYING, “It Holds all things together.” (Wisdom 1:7) The Spirit is LIFE-GIVING, “The breath of God-Creator over the waters.” (Genesis 1,11) The Spirit is STRENGTH and INSPIRATION: The apostles made “Bold proclamations as the Spirit prompted them.” (Acts 2:4) Can we celebrate the presence of the Spirit in our personal lives, in our family life, in the life of the parish community? The answer is “YES” – if we find present there the signs of the Spirit: unity, life and strength. SECOND COLLECTION TODAY FOR ST. VICTOR’S ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETYToday’s second collection today is for St. Victor’s St. Vincent de Paul Society. Please help our volunteers help the needy of our neighborhood.
