Stained Glass

Feast of the Most Holy Trinity - June 6-7, 2009

We have peace with GOD through our Lord, JESUS CHRIST.  God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the HOLY SPIRIT, which has been given to us.  (Romans 5:1,5)  Today the Church honors the Supreme Majesty of One God in Three Divine Persons.  Our intellect is too limited to comprehend the inner essence and life of the Infinite God.  Our contemplation of this mystery is an occasion for humble adoration and a petition for an increase of faith.  Each time we make the Sign of the Cross, we affirm our belief in this mystery of our faith.  How privileged we are to be invited into this love of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit for us.

SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND FOR ST. VICTOR’S DEVELOPMENT FUND

Today’s second collection is for St. Victor’s Development Fund.  This fund assists with the never-ending repairs and projects on the parish grounds.  Thank you for your generosity.

Don’t Forget Dad!

Father’s Day is rapidly approaching – Sunday, June 21st.  Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards are available on the tables as you leave Church today.  These cards are wonderful for remembering fathers everywhere – living or deceased – on Father’s Day and the remainder of June.  Please place the completed envelope in the collection basket or take it to the parish office by noon on Friday, June 19th.

SUMMER MASS SCHEDULE BEGINS SOON

PLEASE NOTE:  Beginning Sunday, June 21st, there will be NO Sunday 5:00 P.M. Mass during the summer.  This Mass will resume in September.

PLANNED GIVING NOTES

Life Insurance Gifts

It is easy to turn an old life insurance policy into a nice gift to St. Victor’s Parish, and a possible tax deduction.  Simply transfer it to, “The Roman Catholic Bishop, a California Corporate Sole, for the benefit of St. Victor’s Parish.”  It is even easier to add the Parish as a beneficiary to a policy.  Because you can always change this, there is no tax deduction for including the Church as a beneficiary.

If you want to know more about this the Diocese can provide free assistance.  Call Robert Serventi @ 983-0168 or write to him at: Diocese of San Jose, The Chancery, 1150 N. First St., Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95112-4966.

CATECHETICAL MINISTRY HELP NEEDED

CM is looking for those who are interested in sharing their faith, time and talents with our Junior High and High School students.  This is a weekly commitment for Junior High, and twice a month for High School Confirmation students.  Please prayerfully consider this most important ministry (Training is provided.)  For more information, please contact Sharron Hollenbeck or Angela Giampaoli in the Catechetical Ministry Office @ 251-0165.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 18 adults from St. Victor’s, who were confirmed at St. Joseph’s Cathedral last weekend.  Let us keep them in our prayers as they continue to journey with us into a deeper understanding of the Paschal Mystery.

You Are Invited

CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU to Father Art Dwyer (the Maryknoll priest that assists us with Sunday Masses) on his 60th anniversary is service to our Lord.  We are truly blessed to have Father with us for these past many years.  We will be honoring Father Art with a reception after the 9:15 and 10:45 A.M. Masses on Sunday, June 14th, in the school courtyard.  Please stop by and give Father Art your regards.

$CRIP UPDATE

$CRIP gift certificates will be available after Masses this weekend, June 6th & 7th, (except Sunday 7:00 and 8:00 A.M.) for all of your shopping, dining and gift giving needs. $CRIP makes great gifts for dads, grads, weddings and all those summer celebrations! You purchase the gift certificate at face value and the merchant, store or restaurant makes a donation to St. Victor’s School. Please call the School Office @ 251-1740 if you have any questions.

THANKS to the members of our parish community who support the $CRIP program and drop off Campbell’s Product Labels and Box Tops for Education on a regular basis for the benefit our School students.  We appreciate your support.
