12th Sunday in Ordinary Time - June 20-21, 2009
PETER’S
PENCE 2009 COLLECTION FOR THE WORKS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Today our parish participates in the Peter’s Pence 2009
Collection for the Works of the Holy Father.
Each year the Holy Father asks us to help him provide for our neediest
brothers and sisters throughout the world – those who suffer due to war,
oppression and natural disasters. Join
the Holy Father in this act of justice and kindness.
Please pray for the Holy Father and give generously to this special
appeal. Extra envelopes are
available in the pews. SECOND
COLLECTION TODAY IS ALSO FOR ST. VICTOR’S TUITION ASSISTANCE
Part
of today’s second collection will be designated for St. Victor’s tuition
assistance. Thank you for your
generosity. Happy
Father’s Day!
Father’s
Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards are still available on the tables inside the Church.
These cards are wonderful for remembering fathers everywhere – living or
deceased – on Father’s Day and the remainder of June.
Please place the completed
envelope in the collection basket today. A
father’s role in a God-centered family is to polish the lives around him until
they shine with a closer reflection of Jesus. Blessed are the fathers... Who mix discipline with love; they
shall know mercy. Who give us values with which to live
the Christian life; they shall share God’s kingdom. Who leave us an appreciation of the
value and dignity of work; they shall find rest. Who point out our responsibilities and
duties; they will be valued. Who teach us how to live on earth for
heaven; they will know God. Who show us the meaning of service by
example; they shall be served. Who give us a clear picture of what a
father should be; they will live forever. Whose love for our mother teaches us
the importance of loving God and each other; they shall see God. May
God Bless All Of Our Fathers! PLEASE NOTE: Beginning
this Sunday, June 21st, there will be NO Sunday

Benedict XVI has declared June 19, 2009 - June 19, 2010 as “The Year of the
Priest,” and has asked us all to pray for our priests and priestly vocations. VOCATION
PRAYER: Loving
God, help us follow the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary in willingly giving
ourselves in service to Your church. Stir
up the grace of priestly and religious vocations in the hearts of many within
our community, and send Your Spirit to guide and strengthen them in answering
Your call. Amen.
(Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Chair, Bishop’s
Committee on Vocations) “Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?” (Mark 4:35-41)
