SECOND COLLECTION TODAY FOR MISSION SUNDAY (Propagation of the Faith)

We know how blessed we are in our faith, in times of sorrow, in times of worry, in times of joy.  Christ calls us to share this gift with those who are close to us, and the entire world. Today, World Mission Sunday, we pray in a special way, that all may know the nearness and love of Christ.  Our second collection for World Mission Sunday will help support the church’s missionary work throughout the world and in our home missions.  Please be as generous as you can in sharing the gift of faith you have received.  Extra envelopes are available in the pews.

PLANNED GIVING NOTES

Your Friend, the Codicil

You can easily change your will to benefit St. Victor’s Parish. All you need to do is have a codicil that adds to or modifies something in your will.  Codicils are effective, inexpensive and easy.

If you want to know more about this, the Diocese can provide free assistance.  Call Robert Serventi @ 983-0168 or write to him at: Diocese of San Jose, The Chancery, 1150 N. First St., Suite 100, Santa Clara, CA 95112-4966.

All Souls Day

All Souls Day is Monday, November 2nd.  The All Souls intentions will also be remembered throughout the month of November.  “It is holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead.” (2 Maccabees 12, 46)  All souls remembrances should be returned to the parish office by 9:00 A.M. on October 30th (weekend envelopes may be dropped in the collection basket).  Extra All Souls envelopes are available in the pews.

Mass on All Souls Day will be celebrated at 8:00 A.M.  The School will celebrate an “All Saints Mass” at 10:00 A.M.

They will be used for our troops when they have time for a little R&R.  Please drop them off at the Rectory Office.  God bless you for your support.

THANKS to all who continue to bring in hygiene supplies and new socks.  They are still needed.  We will be collecting clean used coats and jackets ONLY in November.  Please check your closets.  Again, we will be collecting coats and jackets only – no other clothing will be accepted.  Please give those other items to another charity.
