PLANNED GIVING NOTESYour Will
Or The State’s
If
you don’t have a will or living trust, the State has one for
you! The State will tell
you where your savings, home and possessions (your estate) will go.
If you do have a will or trust, you direct where your
estate will go. If you want to know more about this, the Diocese can provide free assistance. Call Robert Serventi @ 983-0168, or write to him at: Diocese of San Jose, The Chancery, 1150. N. First St., Suite 100, San Jose, Ca 95112-4966. PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY PRAYER CARDS -
This weekend, along with all parishes in our country, St. Victor’s
is celebrating Priesthood Sunday.
This is in addition to a proclamation by Pope Benedict XVI
declaring this year as a “Year for Priests.”
Each family is asked to select one card (on the tables next
to this Sunday’s bulletin) with a priest’s name on it and pray for
that priest each day. The suggested prayer is printed on the
reverse side of the card. In case all the cards are taken, please
choose a priest for your family to pray for and use the following
Serra Club’s suggested prayer:
Dear
Lord, we pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around Your
priests and through her intercession strengthen them for their
ministry. We pray that Mary will guide Your priests to follow her own
words, “Do whatever He tells you.” (Jn2:5).
May Your priests have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary’s most
chaste spouse. May the
Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who
suffer at the foot of the cross. May
Your priests be holy, filled with the fire of Your love seeking
nothing, but Your greater glory and the salvation of souls. Amen.
St. John Vianney , patron saint of priests, pray for us.

Open my mind so I can learn about You. (Clean out the inside.) Take away all my sin and forgive me for the bad things I do. (Cut eyes shaped like hearts.) Open my eyes so Your love I will see. (Cut a nose in the shape of a cross ) I’m sorry for turning up my nose to all You’ve given me. (Cut out ears shaped like the Bible.) Open my ears so Your work I will hear. (Cut the mouth in the shape of a fish.) Open my mouth so I can tell others You’re near. (Place a candle inside and light it.) Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen. “Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day.” {Psalms 71:8} MARK

Gratitude
The Diocesan Council of Filipino Catholics in the Diocese of San Jose would like to thank the many parishes and Filipino-American parish organizations for their very generous response to the special collection of used clothing, non-perishable foods, canned goods and medicines to help the people hardest hit by typhoons Ketsana and Parma in the Philippines. We have shipped more than 400 cargo boxes to Caritas, Manila, the Diocese of Pasig and the Diocese of Antipolo. Relief efforts continue. We are very grateful to Alpha Cargo Forwarders for the free shipment of the relief goods. Given the massive destruction in the aftermath of these typhoons, the Filipino American Communities in the Diocese are very appreciative of your expression of love. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to St. Victor’s Parishioners for their financial generosity to Catholic Relief Services ($7,650.00) for ALL the disaster victims of the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Samoa, Tonga and Indonesia. THANK YOU to all the Mission refreshment helpers for their hours of work during our Parish Mission, especially Tony & Lita Zaragoza, Karen Fear, Helen Chavez, Lieu Pham, Loat Dinh and all the cookies bakers for your yummy treats. There
will be a second collection next weekend for St. Victor’s
Development Fund. “Sing
aloud with gladness.” (JER 31:7)
