Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

(World Day of Prayer for Peace)

Mary, the Mother of God, ushered in a new era with the birth of her divine Son.  She has been given as Mother to us.  As she watched over the beginnings of the Christ-child’s life, so may she watch over all of us at the beginning of this New Year.  As we begin another year with her feast, let us pray that her motherly intercession will gain peace, joy and every blessing upon us and those we love.

PRAYER TO THE MOTHER OF GOD: Remember, most loving Virgin Mary, never was it heard that anyone who turned to you for help was left unaided.  Inspired by this confidence, though burdened by my sins, I turn to you for protection for you are my mother.  Mother of the Word of God, do not despise my words of pleading, but be merciful and hear my prayer.  Amen.

There will be NO 5:00 P.M. Mass on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

Mass on Thursday, December 31st, will be celebrated at 8:00 A.M. Masses on Friday, January 1st, will be celebrated at 8:00 A.M. and 7:30 P.M. (First Friday Mass).  All Parish Offices close at noon on Thursday, December 31st, and will be closed all day on New Year’s Day.

First Friday Adoration and Mass

Start the year right by attending an hour of Adoration in the Chapel on Friday/Saturday, January 1st & 2nd.  You are encouraged to come for prayer and meditation any time immediately following the 8:00 A.M.
