Epiphany of the Lord - January 2-3, 2010

The word “epiphany” comes from the Greek epiphainen, a verb that means, “to shine upon,” “to manifest,” or “to make known.”  Thus the Feast of the Epiphany celebrates the many ways that Christ, and the light of His salvation, is made known to the world.

Traditional Epiphany Blessing of the Home: Make this inscription with chalk above the main door of your house: 20?G?M?B?10.  The leader then prays:  The three wise men, Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar, followed the star of God’s Son, who became human over two thousand years ago.  May Christ bless our dwelling and remain with us throughout the New Year. Amen.

CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS AND 2010 ADA PLEDGE INFORMATION

St. Victor’s recently changed our software to ParishSoft.  When the information was merged with our Parish Data Systems information, it did not merge well.  We are asking that you please go over your contribution statements and ADA mailing when you receive it - make sure the names, addresses and other information are completely correct.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.

Those families who use the parish envelope system will soon be receiving statements of contribution(s) for determining the amounts given by each family in Regular, Special and Development fund collections.  These statements are done out of courtesy for you and are very useful in preparing your income tax returns.  We thank you for your continued support ant generosity.

PLEASE NOTE: Catholic Foundation and ADA contribution statements will be mailed to you directly from those Diocesan Offices.
