Epiphany of the Lord - January 2-3, 2010
The
word “epiphany” comes from the Greek epiphainen, a verb that
means, “to shine upon,” “to manifest,” or “to make known.”
Thus the Feast of the Epiphany celebrates the many ways that
Christ, and the light of His salvation, is made known to the world. Traditional
Epiphany Blessing of the Home: Make this inscription with
chalk above the main door of your house: 20?G?M?B?10.
The leader then prays: The
three wise men, Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar, followed the star of
God’s Son, who became human over two thousand years ago.
May Christ bless our dwelling and remain with us throughout the
New Year. Amen. SECOND COLLECTION TODAY FOR ST. VICTOR’S DEVELOPMENT FUNDThis week’s second collection is for our Development Fund. This fund assists with the never-ending repairs and projects on the parish grounds. Thank you for your support. ATTENTION
